With breast cancer on the rise for both men and women, we want to ensure your safety.

Did you know that deodorants can lead to cancer? Some brands contain parabens which are harmful and cancerous. Unfortunately, we’ve all known someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The typical cliché is genetics as a cause, which can be partially true, but what about toxins in our every day essentials?

Did you know that cleaning supplies, birth-control, and skin care products are just a few everyday items that all contain harmful chemicals known to cause cancer? At Facial Lounge, we care about your wellbeing and wouldn't suggest anything for your skin we haven't researched thoroughly. In fact, all our products at Facial Lounge are cruelty free and vegan.

Here's a little food for thought from our founder, Amber Johnson:

Breast cancer is real. Here's 3 things to avoid:"

1: Anti-perspirant deodorant:

Not only does antiperspirants stop your body from detoxing, it actually suppresses toxins and pushes them back into your lymph system and breast(s). Breast cancer for men and women are at the highest rates and a lot of this is linked to anti-perspirant deodorant. There are some great natural alternatives like Nudde and Bare. It’s important to avoid parabens and aluminum.

2: Research shows that your cleaning supplies are mimicking estrogen and they are linked to breast cancer!

Most big brand cleaning products contain some of the same chemicals used in personal care products. It’s important to buy natural cleaning supplies to avoid ingredients linked to breast cancer. These include: triclosan, bisphenol A, phthalates, parabens, and alkylphenols.

3: Commonly used skincare and makeup also contain the ingredient "ethylhexylglycerin” - which is clinically known to have nasty side effects as a skin irritant and many believe it is cancer causing.

Johnson & Johnson recently settled a lawsuit for $4.7 billion because some talc powder (baby powder) is known to cause ovarian cancer. Many people don’t realize that everyday basic essentials contain toxic ingredients.

Another known fact is that along with toxic ingredients, other variations of unhealthy choices will maximize continued health issues, such as: excessive alcohol use, unhealthy eating, smoking and vaping.

Remember to be aware of BPA free plastics, propylene glycol, talc-powder, cerave, methenamine, and other ingredients in commonly used household items which can actually mutate your cells into cancer.

At the Facial Lounge, we only use BPA free plastic packaging and glass.

Researching ingredients you're putting in and on your body is vital. Many people trust well established companies won't put "cancerous" chemicals into their consumer products. We strongly urge you to read labels skeptically and watch out for carcinogens in what you spray, eat, touch, and indulge in daily routines.

Get your check-ups regularly, eat healthy, exercise, research, relax, and take care of yourself. Don’t forget to give yourself a high-five, a hug and a facial!
